Aishveryaa Nidhi
(Also credited as Aishverya Nidhi)
Aishveryaa Nidhi is a Sydney-based actor,writer,director and filmmaker. She was nominated for Best Actress Award in Short & Sweet, Sydney 2009, the biggest festival of 10 minute plays on the planet, for her powerful performance in Mandragora, written by David Sharpe and directed by Lisa Eismen. She is the recipient of Bronze (ARP) artist award at Short+Sweet. She is the recipient of 'Excellent contribution in Art & Culture' award by Navtarang FISCA in 2009 and Hindi Gaurav & Radio Sur Sangam in 2011.
She is the Associate Producer of the 2006 Hollywood drama-mystery Beyond Life. More recently, she has produced and directed the Aussie-Bollywood flick Flight to Bollywood featuring Salme Geransar, James Eggleton, Kyla Frank, Sukhraj Deepak and Satish Rai. Background score was given by Avijit Sarkar.
Aish is also actively involved in popularising Indian art and culture in Australia. Aish has produced and acted in immensely popular theatre productions, such as Gandhari (solo performance), Kuntiputra Karna and Hamare Padosi, directed by Arvind Gaur. As the founder president of Abhinay School of Performing Arts Inc.,she is dedicated to promoting languages like Hindi & Sanskrit and art and culture from Indian sub continent through instructional classes and professional performances. Their artistic programmes maintain Indian-Australian connection to their cultural heritage, and strive to expand the culture's expressive range,fostering it's stylistic evolution in Australia.

Gandhari (play) is a 60-minute solo-performance which was first staged at one of Sydney's most respected venues, NIDA Theatre, in July 2005. Produced by Aishveryaa and directed by Arvind Gaur. Done repeat shows in Sydney and was also invited to perform in Melbourne on South Asia Day on 9th August 2008. Gandhari is one of the tragic characters of Mahabharata, the great Indian mythological epic and is very relevant to the contemporary socio- political context. She was born a princess, but was forced to marry a blind man, Dhritrashtra, who was much older to her. Gandhari is story of Mahabharata from Gandhari's eyes.
